1. Fitness and Health Information Disclaimer
1.1 Not Medical Advice
Everything on this website, including calculator results, guides, articles, and strength standards, is provided for informational and educational purposes only. Nothing on this site constitutes medical advice, clinical diagnosis, or a professional fitness prescription. It is not a substitute for guidance from a licensed physician, physical therapist, certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS), or another qualified professional.
If you have an existing injury, medical condition, cardiovascular concern, or any health situation that may affect your ability to train safely, consult a qualified professional before beginning or modifying an exercise program. Do not disregard professional medical advice because of information you read on this website.
1.2 Individual Results Vary
Strength performance, training progress, and injury risk differ between individuals. Factors such as age, training experience, genetics, body composition, health status, sleep, nutrition, and recovery can affect what an individual lifter may safely achieve. No result, strength standard, or benchmark displayed on this website should be treated as a personal prediction, guarantee, or target that applies to everyone.
1.3 Exercise Involves Risk
Strength training carries inherent physical risks. Maximal and near-maximal efforts, including one-rep max testing, may carry a higher risk of injury than submaximal training. We recommend a structured warm-up before heavy lifting, qualified coaching for anyone new to barbell training, appropriate safety equipment such as a power rack, safety pins, and collars, and a spotter for heavy bench press and squat attempts.
The website and its owner are not responsible for injuries, losses, or damages resulting from the application of information or calculator results, to the extent permitted by applicable law. You are responsible for your own training decisions and safety.
2. Calculator Accuracy Disclaimer
2.1 Estimated Results Only
All one-rep max (1RM) estimates generated by our calculators are mathematical predictions based on established estimation formulas, including Epley (1985), Brzycki (1993), Lander (1985), Lombardi (1989), Mayhew (1992), O’Conner (1989), and Wathan (1994). These estimates are not direct physical measurements of your maximum lifting capacity.
Your actual one-rep max can depend on technical form, accumulated fatigue, equipment, testing conditions, time of day, and training history. No formula accounts for every individual variable. Treat each estimate as a working approximation rather than a definitive result.
2.2 Formula Limitations
Each formula is based on particular datasets and testing conditions. No single formula performs equally well across all rep ranges, training ages, and exercises. Estimates based on sets above 10 repetitions may be less reliable because muscular endurance can influence the result more than maximum strength.
Where appropriate, use estimates from 3 to 5 repetition sets. Compare results across multiple formulas and consider the differences when planning your training. Do not rely on one calculated number as a guaranteed maximum.
2.3 Not a Substitute for Proper Testing
Competitive powerlifters, strength athletes, or anyone who needs a verified maximum for competition or clinical assessment should use an appropriately supervised testing session following a structured protocol. Our calculators are intended to support training planning and programming; they do not replace a properly executed, supervised maximum attempt.
3. Content Accuracy and Updates
3.1 Best Efforts to Be Accurate
Our guides and articles may draw on published research from recognized organizations, including the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), peer-reviewed sports science literature, established coaching frameworks, and practical training experience. We make reasonable efforts to provide accurate information at the time of publication.
Exercise science and training recommendations can evolve. An article published today may not reflect the most current research when you read it. We may update older content when appropriate, but we cannot guarantee that every page always reflects the latest available evidence.
3.2 No Warranty of Completeness
To the extent permitted by applicable law, this website makes no warranty, express or implied, that its content is complete, current, or free from errors. Information is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis for general educational purposes. Readers should consult qualified coaches, healthcare professionals, and current research before making significant training decisions.
4. External Links Disclaimer
This website may link to external resources, including ExRx.net, Symmetric Strength, the NSCA, the ACSM, and other reference websites. These links are provided for convenience and additional information. We do not control or guarantee the content, accuracy, availability, or privacy practices of external websites.
When you follow an external link, you leave this website and become subject to the terms, privacy policies, and practices of the destination website. We encourage you to review those policies before using external services.
5. Advertising Disclaimer
This website may display third-party advertisements through Google AdSense or other advertising networks, where applicable. Advertisements are provided by third-party advertisers and advertising networks and are not necessarily created, reviewed, or endorsed by this website.
The presence of an advertisement does not constitute a recommendation or endorsement of the advertised product, service, or company. Advertising content and targeting may be controlled by the relevant advertising provider.
6. Affiliate Links
Some links on this website may be affiliate links. If you click an affiliate link and make a qualifying purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
Where affiliate relationships exist, they do not determine calculator results or automatically influence our editorial content, including guides, formula explanations, and strength standards. We aim to provide information based on relevance and usefulness to readers.
We will update this section when specific affiliate partnerships are established, where appropriate.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the owner and operators of onerepmaxcalculator.site shall not be liable for losses or damages arising from your use of this website, its content, calculator tools, or third-party resources linked from it.
This includes, where legally permitted, direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or other losses arising from physical injury, training decisions, reliance on calculator estimates, or the use of information published on this website.
Nothing in this disclaimer is intended to exclude or limit any liability or legal rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.
